A compact regional market where the price of a click is set search by search.
Central Coast customers search for tradies from Woy Woy to Lake Munmorah, but there's no single price for showing up. Every trade has its own range, and on a single search the top of Google's estimate can be several times the bottom.

Showing up at the top of Google has a price, and it's set search by search. Here's Google's estimate of what the top spot costs on each trade's main Central Coast search, and what moves the price within your trade.
| Trade | Most-searched term | Searches a month* | Top spot, per click* |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plumbing | plumber central coast | 720 | $13.44–$61.85 |
| Bathroom renovations | bathroom renovations central coast | 320 | $4.35–$22.47 |
| Electrical | electrician central coast | 260 | $14.87–$54.49 |
| Builders | home builders central coast | 170 | $5.04–$18.14 |
| Kitchen renovations | kitchen renovations central coast | 140 | $4.66–$15.04 |
| Plastering | plasterer central coast | 110 | $2.54–$10.30 |
| Building inspection | building and pest inspection central coast | 90 | $5.23–$16.23 |
The table shows the most-searched Central Coast term for each trade. The ranges are Google's estimate of the bid it takes to show at the top of the page. You often pay less per click, because Google only charges what's needed to hold your spot, but the numbers show where the pressure is.
"Electrician Central Coast" draws 260 searches a month, with the top spot at $14.87 to $54.49 a click. "Level 2 electrician Central Coast" draws 70, with its own range of $11.56 to $34.72. Level 2 is an NSW accreditation, and Google prices it as its own search.
Keeping your ads on your side of the water and bidding on searches that name a suburb are two different things. In plumbing, the second barely shows up here. All nine Central Coast plumbing searches we tracked named the region, from "plumber Central Coast" at 720 a month to "gas plumber Central Coast" at 10. That puts the suburb work in your location settings, not your keyword list.
*Google Keyword Planner data (location: Australia) for searches naming the Central Coast, 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026, across seven trades. Searches a month are 12-month averages, with grouped variants counted once and business and product names left out. "Top spot" means the ads at the top of the page; ranges are Google's estimate of the bid it takes to show there.

Here's what actually happened when tradies like you gave us a shot.
Our founder, Mitch, spent 15 years in marketing, much of it as the client hiring agencies.
Plenty of agencies sound great in the pitch. Then the reports start rolling in, full of numbers and short on answers, and you’re left wondering what you’re actually paying for.
Mitch knows that feeling. He lived it for years.
So Trusted Digital starts somewhere else: the business behind the marketing. Who your best customers are, which jobs you want more of, and what a good month actually looks like for you.
That’s what shapes our strategy: marketing that brings in quality enquiries, helps you win the right work and delivers results you can see.
We built the agency we wanted to hire.

Don't take our word for it. Hear it from the businesses we've helped grow.

Are you ready to be the next success story?
The problem isn't that Central Coast customers aren't searching. It's paying for clicks on the wrong side of the water.
The top spot on "emergency plumber Central Coast" can cost more than $60 a click, and a loose radius or the wrong location setting will happily buy clicks in Budgewoi for a crew based in Umina Beach.
On the Central Coast, the water decides which jobs are worth quoting. Brisbane Water and Tuggerah Lake turn short distances into long drives, and a campaign set to the whole Coast ignores both.
Google Ads can put your business in front of a customer the moment they search for your trade. A loose campaign spends the same money on searches for other businesses, plasterboard and jobs you'd never quote.
Google Ads built around the jobs you actually want on the Central Coast
We don't start with a generic keyword list. We start with the work you want more of, the parts of the Central Coast you can service and the customers you want to attract.
Then we build the campaigns, targeting, ads and landing pages needed to turn paid clicks into genuine enquiries, and keep improving them based on what the data shows.

A keyword list with a volume column tells you what people type. It doesn't tell you which of those searches lead to work worth having, or what that click will cost you in this market.
We start with the services that carry the strongest job value, the suburbs where you can realistically deliver, and the customer you want on the other end of the phone. Keyword targeting follows those decisions rather than driving them.
The Coast runs from the Hawkesbury River to Lake Munmorah, wrapped around Brisbane Water and Tuggerah Lake. A region-wide campaign buys clicks your crew won't drive around the lake for, and Google's default setting also reaches people in Sydney searching about the Coast.
Location targeting, exclusions, schedules and campaign structure keep spend on the areas where your team can actually win work, then shift as the location data tells us which suburbs are producing.
Someone can click your ad and still leave if the page is vague, slow, or doesn't make it obvious that you do that exact job in their area.
We align the ad message with the landing page so the customer quickly understands the service, the service area, the credibility and the next step, with an enquiry path short enough to finish on a phone.
Cost per click can look excellent while the campaign produces jobs you don't want. A higher-cost click is worth paying when it consistently produces profitable work.
We look past traffic to calls, forms and quote requests, using search term and conversion data to decide which parts of the account deserve more budget and which should be cut.

How we turn Google Ads into a better lead channel
The campaign isn't finished when the ads go live. We use real search and conversion data to decide what to keep, what to cut and where the next dollar should go.
We define the services, job values and parts of the Central Coast worth promoting, then research the searches customers use to find your trade. We also review your current account, competitors and conversion setup before the budget starts moving.
We build the campaign structure, targeting, keywords, negative keywords, ads and call and form tracking around that strategy, so you can see what is being spent, what it is for and what it is producing.
Once live, the campaign produces actual search data. We watch what people search, which ads they respond to, which suburbs the clicks come from and which of them turn into enquiries.
We cut irrelevant search terms, tighten targeting, improve weak ads and adjust budgets. If a campaign is spending without producing the right enquiries, we find the reason rather than adding more budget.
Once we know which services, searches and Central Coast suburbs are producing good jobs, we put more budget behind them and test related opportunities, based on evidence from your own account.
Google Ads can start fast, but it still needs data to get good.
Your timeline depends on the trade, the budget, the competition in your auctions and how quickly the account gathers enough conversion data to act on.
Business discovery, campaign strategy, keyword research, targeting, tracking and the account build.
Campaigns go live, search terms are reviewed and early conversion data starts shaping the account.
Refine targeting, ads, budgets and landing pages against real lead quality rather than click volume.
Move budget toward the services and Central Coast suburbs producing the strongest opportunities.
Higher-cost searches need more patience. When the top spot on your main search can cost more than $50 a click, the account needs more spend before the results are readable. That's a reason to build the campaign tightly, not a reason to wait.
Not every Central Coast search that names your trade is a job you'd quote. Knowing which ones are makes a budget go further.
Keyword tools count searches, not jobs. Inside a single trade, the search often names the work. Central Coast builder searches include "granny flat builders Central Coast", "duplex builders Central Coast" and "shed builders Central Coast", each with its own price at the top of the page. If you don't build granny flats, those clicks are budget spent on work you won't quote.
The wording of a search changes its price too. "Electrician Central Coast" draws 260 searches a month with the top spot at $14.87 to $54.49, while "electrical companies Central Coast" runs $11.75 to $21.25. A cheaper click isn't automatically a better one. Each wording needs its own ads, its own page and a clear call on which jobs you want, and wording that doesn't fit your work belongs on your negative keyword list.
Urgent searches sit higher. "Emergency plumber Central Coast" gets 50 searches a month, and the low end of its top-spot range is $24.96 a click, against $13.44 for "plumber Central Coast". Deciding whether you want after-hours work, before the budget starts moving, is worth more than any change to your bids made afterwards.

Different businesses. Different challenges. The same focus on better customers, better jobs and predictable growth.

Straight answers for Central Coast trade business owners considering Google Ads.
It depends on your trade and the exact search. The Cost to Compete table above shows the top-spot range on your trade's main Central Coast search. Those are Google's estimates of the bid it takes to show at the top of the page, and what you actually pay is often lower. The number that matters more is what each booked job costs you, and that's what we report on.
Work backwards from the jobs. Say you're a plumber paying $20 a click, inside the top-spot range for "plumber Central Coast". If 1 in 10 clicks becomes an enquiry and you book 1 in 3, each job costs about $600 in ad spend, so five extra jobs a month needs a budget of about $3,000. If you make well over $600 profit on an average job, that works. If you don't, we'll tell you before you spend anything. These are example numbers. On the call, we'll run them with yours.
That question covers two different things. Showing your ads only to people in the suburbs you service is almost always worth doing. It won't necessarily make each click cheaper, but it stops you paying for customers on the far side of the lake. Bidding on searches that name a suburb is different, and smaller here. In plumbing, every Central Coast search we tracked named the region rather than a suburb, so most of the suburb control comes from location settings.
Yes, and on the Central Coast it's less about kilometres than the water. A plumber in Umina Beach may happily drive to Woy Woy but not around Brisbane Water to The Entrance in the afternoon. Google's default setting also shows ads to people elsewhere searching about your area, Sydney included, so we target people who are in, or regularly in, the suburbs you work, exclude the rest, and review location performance as the data builds.
Sometimes not, and we'll tell you. The top spot on "plumber Central Coast" typically runs $13.44 to $61.85 a click, so a small call-out only pays back if enough clicks turn into jobs and there's repeat work behind it. Trades with higher job values, or ones that turn small jobs into bigger work, usually get more out of paid search.
We check the searches your ads actually showed for and block the ones that don't fit, using negative keywords. Plenty of Central Coast builder searches name another business, a home and land package or an owner builder course, and some plastering searches are for the board, not the trade. You pay for those clicks whether or not they become enquiries, so blocking them is ongoing work rather than a one-off setup task.
You can, but it's the expensive fix. Position depends on your bid and your ad quality together, so a more relevant ad and a landing page that matches the search can lift you for less. On "emergency plumber Central Coast", where the top spot typically runs $24.96 to $65.12 a click, outbidding a bigger budget is a race worth staying out of.
Ads can get clicks within a day or so of Google approving them. A steady flow of the right enquiries usually takes a few weeks, because the account needs real search data before we know what to cut and what to back. Four of the seven main Central Coast trade searches we tracked, from "electrician Central Coast" to "kitchen renovations Central Coast", are rated High competition by Google, so early refinement is where the money gets saved.
If your existing service page clearly shows you do that job, in that part of the Coast, with an obvious way to enquire, it can work. Most tradie websites don't. A page matched to the ad and the area, such as bathroom renovations on the Peninsula, usually turns more clicks into enquiries, which does more for your cost per job than chasing cheaper clicks.
If you need work next month, Google Ads. It buys visibility straight away, where local SEO builds it over time. Many established Central Coast trade businesses end up running both, with paid search covering high-demand searches now and local SEO on the Central Coast reducing how much you rely on paying per click later.
