A sprawling coastal market where the price of a click is set search by search.
Perth customers search for tradies every day, but there's no single price for showing up. Every trade has its own range, and on a single search the top of Google's estimate can be several times the bottom.

Showing up at the top of Google has a price, and it's set search by search. Here's Google's estimate of what the top spot costs on each trade's main Perth search, and what moves the price within your trade.
| Trade | Most-searched term | Searches a month* | Top spot, per click* |
|---|---|---|---|
| Electrical | electrician perth | 2,900 | $12.11–$50.96 |
| Plumbing | plumber perth | 2,400 | $12.00–$41.21 |
| Builders | home builders perth | 2,400 | $3.10–$11.16 |
| Bathroom renovations | bathroom renovations perth | 1,900 | $2.98–$10.95 |
| Kitchen renovations | kitchen renovation perth | 1,600 | $2.85–$13.27 |
| Building inspection | building inspection perth | 880 | $6.86–$18.96 |
| Plastering | plasterer perth | 480 | $2.35–$10.33 |
The table shows the most-searched term for each trade. The ranges are Google's estimate of the bid it takes to show at the top of the page. You often pay less per click, because Google only charges what's needed to hold your spot, but the numbers show where the pressure is.
"Plumber Perth" draws 2,400 searches a month, with the top spot at $12.00 to $41.21 a click. The suburb versions Google priced usually come in higher at the top end, with "plumber Ellenbrook" at $17.23 to $64.57.
Showing your ads only in the suburbs you service and bidding on searches that name a suburb are two different things. The first cuts wasted spend. In plumbing, the second usually costs more. "Plumber Joondalup" runs $11.56 to $60.60 a click at the top of the page, against $12.00 to $41.21 for "plumber Perth". Both belong in a well-built account, as long as the budget allows for the difference.
*Google Keyword Planner data (location: Australia) for searches naming Perth or a Perth suburb, 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026. Searches a month are 12-month averages, with grouped variants counted once and business and product names left out. "Top spot" means the ads at the top of the page; ranges are Google's low and high bid estimates, and trade-wide figures are medians across the searches we tracked.

Here's what actually happened when tradies like you gave us a shot.
Our founder, Mitch, spent 15 years in marketing, much of it as the client hiring agencies.
Plenty of agencies sound great in the pitch. Then the reports start rolling in, full of numbers and short on answers, and you’re left wondering what you’re actually paying for.
Mitch knows that feeling. He lived it for years.
So Trusted Digital starts somewhere else: the business behind the marketing. Who your best customers are, which jobs you want more of, and what a good month actually looks like for you.
That’s what shapes our strategy: marketing that brings in quality enquiries, helps you win the right work and delivers results you can see.
We built the agency we wanted to hire.

Don't take our word for it. Hear it from the businesses we've helped grow.

Are you ready to be the next success story?
The problem isn't that Perth customers aren't searching. It's paying for clicks on the wrong side of the river.
The top spot on a Perth electrical search can run past $50 a click, and a campaign set to all of Greater Perth will happily buy clicks from Yanchep for a crew based in Rockingham.
The cost of a click isn't the problem. Paying it for the wrong search, in the wrong suburb or outside your service area, is.
Google Ads can put your business in front of a customer the moment they search for your trade. A loose campaign spends the same money on price shoppers, searches for other businesses and jobs you would never quote.
Google Ads built around the jobs you actually want in Perth
We don't start with a generic keyword list. We start with the work you want more of, the parts of Perth you can service and the customers you want to attract.
Then we build the campaigns, targeting, ads and landing pages needed to turn paid clicks into genuine enquiries, and keep improving them based on what the data shows.

A keyword list with a volume column tells you what people type. It doesn't tell you which of those searches lead to work worth having, or what that click will cost you in this market.
We start with the services that carry the strongest job value, the suburbs where you can realistically deliver, and the customer you want on the other end of the phone. Keyword targeting follows those decisions rather than driving them.
Greater Perth runs from Yanchep to Mandurah along the coast, split by the Swan River. A metro-wide campaign buys clicks your crew won't drive an hour for, and suburb searches are often the dearest in the account.
Location targeting, exclusions, schedules and campaign structure keep spend on the areas where your team can actually win work, then shift as the location data tells us which suburbs are producing.
Someone can click your ad and still leave if the page is vague, slow, or doesn't make it obvious that you do that exact job in their area.
We align the ad message with the landing page so the customer quickly understands the service, the service area, the credibility and the next step, with an enquiry path short enough to finish on a phone.
Cost per click can look excellent while the campaign produces jobs you don't want. A higher-cost click is worth paying when it consistently produces profitable work.
We look past traffic to calls, forms and quote requests, using search term and conversion data to decide which parts of the account deserve more budget and which should be cut.

How we turn Google Ads into a better lead channel
The campaign isn't finished when the ads go live. We use real search and conversion data to decide what to keep, what to cut and where the next dollar should go.
We define the services, job values and parts of Perth worth promoting, then research the searches customers use to find your trade. We also review your current account, competitors and conversion setup before the budget starts moving.
We build the campaign structure, targeting, keywords, negative keywords, ads and call and form tracking around that strategy, so you can see what is being spent, what it is for and what it is producing.
Once live, the campaign produces actual search data. We watch what people search, which ads they respond to, which suburbs the clicks come from and which of them turn into enquiries.
We cut irrelevant search terms, tighten targeting, improve weak ads and adjust budgets. If a campaign is spending without producing the right enquiries, we find the reason rather than adding more budget.
Once we know which services, searches and Perth suburbs are producing good jobs, we put more budget behind them and test related opportunities, based on evidence from your own account.
Google Ads can start fast, but it still needs data to get good.
Your timeline depends on the trade, the budget, the competition in your auctions and how quickly the account gathers enough conversion data to act on.
Business discovery, campaign strategy, keyword research, targeting, tracking and the account build.
Campaigns go live, search terms are reviewed and early conversion data starts shaping the account.
Refine targeting, ads, budgets and landing pages against real lead quality rather than click volume.
Move budget toward the services and Perth suburbs producing the strongest opportunities.
Higher-cost searches need more patience. When Google's top-spot estimate on your main Perth search can run past $50 a click, the account needs more spend before the results are readable. That's a reason to build the campaign tightly, not a reason to wait.
Not every Perth search that names your trade is a job you can win. Knowing which ones are makes a budget go further.
Keyword tools count searches, not jobs. Inside a single trade, the search often names the work. Perth builder searches include "renovation builders Perth", "custom home builders Perth", "granny flat builders Perth" and "duplex builders Perth", each with its own price at the top of the page. If you don't build duplexes, those clicks are budget spent on work you won't quote.
The wording of a search changes its price too. "Plumber Perth" draws 2,400 searches a month with the top spot at $12.00 to $41.21, while "cheap plumber Perth" runs $4.74 to $25.17. Neither is wrong to bid on, but they need different ads, different pages and a clear call on which jobs you want.
Gas work sits inside the same trade with a different price. "Gas plumber Perth" gets 140 searches a month at $15.51 to $39.65 a click at the top of the page, against $12.00 to $41.21 for "plumber Perth". If you don't do gas, those clicks don't belong in your account.

Different businesses. Different challenges. The same focus on better customers, better jobs and predictable growth.

Google Ads across Greater Perth
We run Google Ads for trade businesses across Greater Perth. Here a realistic service area is set less by distance than by which side of the Swan River your crew will cross and how far up or down the coast they'll travel, and that's how we build the targeting.

Straight answers for Perth trade business owners considering Google Ads.
It depends on your trade and the exact search. The Cost to Compete table above shows the top-spot range on your trade's main Perth search. Those are Google's estimates of the bid it takes to show at the top of the page, and what you actually pay is often lower. The number that matters more is what each booked job costs you, and that's what we report on.
Work backwards from the jobs. Say clicks in your trade cost $25, 1 in 10 clicks becomes an enquiry, and you book 1 in 3 enquiries. Each job costs about $750 in ad spend, so five extra jobs a month needs about $3,750. If your average job is worth $6,000, that works. If it's worth $300, it doesn't, and we'll tell you before you spend anything. In Perth, the suburbs you choose can move that click cost a long way. On the call, we'll run the numbers with yours.
Not in the way most people mean. Limiting your ads to the suburbs you service stops you paying for customers up in Yanchep or down in Mandurah when your crew is based in the middle, but it won't make each click cheaper. Searches that name a suburb, like "plumber Joondalup" or "plumber Ellenbrook", usually cost more at the top of the page than "plumber Perth" does. They can still be worth buying, as long as that suburb is one you want.
Yes, and in Perth it's often less about kilometres than which side of the river your crew will cross. A plumber in Fremantle may happily drive to Cockburn but not up to Joondalup on a Friday afternoon. We build the service area around the trips your team will actually make, exclude the rest, and review location performance as the data builds.
Sometimes not, and we'll tell you. The top spot on "plumber Perth" typically runs $12.00 to $41.21 a click, and single-suburb plumbing searches can run higher again. If a call-out is worth $200, the numbers only work with a strong conversion rate and repeat work behind it. Trades with higher job values, or ones that turn small jobs into bigger work, usually get more out of paid search.
We check the searches your ads actually showed for and block the ones that don't fit, using negative keywords. Plenty of Perth trade searches name another business, a product or the cheapest option going. You pay for those clicks whether or not they become enquiries, so blocking them is ongoing work rather than a one-off setup task.
You can, but it's the expensive fix. Position depends on your bid and your ad quality together, so a more relevant ad and a landing page that matches the search can lift you for less. On a single-suburb electrical or plumbing search, where the top spot can run above $70 a click, outbidding a bigger budget is a race worth staying out of.
Ads can get clicks within a day or so of Google approving them. A steady flow of the right enquiries usually takes a few weeks, because the account needs real search data before we know what to cut and what to back. Five of the seven main Perth trade searches we tracked, from "electrician Perth" to "bathroom renovations Perth", are rated High competition by Google, so early refinement is where the money gets saved.
If your existing service page clearly shows you do that job, in that part of Perth, with an obvious way to enquire, it can work. Most tradie websites don't. A page matched to the ad and the area, such as bathroom renovations in Joondalup, usually converts better, and a better conversion rate is worth more than a cheaper click.
If you need work next month, Google Ads. It buys visibility straight away, where local SEO builds it over time. Many established Perth trade businesses end up running both, with paid search covering high-demand searches now and local SEO in Perth reducing how much you rely on paying per click later.
